These raw data points have no direct link to a map or global reference frame. To create an accurate, georeferenced point cloud, the individual frames must be merged and each laser measurement assigned global coordinates.<br \/>Using inertial data ensures consistent positioning even in challenging environments such as GNSS shadows.
